Enroll, delete, or reset a Jasco Smart Flood/Freeze Sensor

The Jasco Smart Flood/Freeze Sensor can be enrolled into or deleted from a Z-Wave network following the instructions below.

To enroll a Jasco Smart Flood/Freeze Sensor

As a SmartStart device:

It is recommended to enroll this device as a SmartStart device to eliminate the need to put Z-Wave controllers into Add Mode or to trigger devices (as is the case when enrolling non-SmartStart S2 devices).

As an S2 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart-compatible, it is recommended to enroll this device as an S2 device for enhanced security and encryption features.

As an S0 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart or S2-compatible, this device can be enrolled in the traditional way as an S0 device.

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Add Mode.
  2. Remove the top cover of the sensor.
  3. Verify the battery is installed with the correct polarity and the battery tab has been removed, or verify the micro USB is plugged into USB port.
  4. Press and release the programming button. The red LED will flash quickly as it searches for a network.
  5. After 25 seconds, the LED will stop flashing if the sensor is not added to the network. Press the programming button to manually start the add process.
    • If it times out, the LED will stop flashing. Press and release the programming button again.
  6. The red LED will turn on for 3 seconds to confirm the sensor has been added in the network.

To delete a Jasco Smart Flood/Freeze Sensor

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Delete Mode.
  2. Press and release the programming button one time on the sensor.
  3. The red LED will blink five times to indicate it has been remove

To reset a Jasco Smart Flood/Freeze Sensor

  1. Press the programming button 10 times within 6 seconds.
  2. The red LED will activate for 2 seconds, followed by three quick flashes to confirm the sensor has been reset.

Troubleshooting

The Z-Wave device is not enrolling
