Quarterly Water Valve Test failed

The Quarterly Water Valve Test reminds customers with a Z-Wave water shutoff valve to test their valve every 90 days.

For more information about performing the Quarterly Water Valve test, see Quarterly water valve tests.

If the test fails:

  1. Verify the Z-Wave mesh network is strong with repeaters and minimal wall, floor, or object obstruction between devices. Bring repeaters on-site when investigating to be safe.
  2. Test an open or close command to the valve from the Alarm.com customer website or app.
  3. If this fails, test the valve locally using the buttons on the device to open and close the valve.
  4. If local control does not work, it may be possible that the hardware is not working properly. Consult a plumber or the professional that completed the installation.
  5. If local control works but remote commands are failing, test remote Z-Wave commands to other devices on the network. If other Z-Wave devices have issues, it may be necessary to improve the Z-Wave mesh network by moving devices or adding additional repeaters.

The test will re-prompt after 90 days again for the customer. If commands work when on-site, that will be sufficient until the next test period is prompted.
