Wireless connection protocols

The following table outlines the Wi-Fi security protocols that each series of wireless video devices support to connect to a network:

If the router uses a standard or band not listed above

As long as the router is capable of enabling the wireless networking standards (e.g., 802.11 b/g/n/ac) required by the video device, the router should be able to enroll the camera.

Frequently asked questions

While some Alarm.com video devices do support the 802.11ax standard, most routers can also still be configured for backwards compatibility with the network standards listed above.

While the video devices themselves do not support the 802.11be standard, most routers can still be set to be backwards compatible with the network standards listed above.

  • '23 and '24 series video devices support WPA3 on firmware version 0.6.2.548+
  • The ADC-V515 supports WPA3 on firmware version 0.0.5.357+
  • The ADC-VDB750 supports WPA3 on firmware version 02093+
  • The ADC-V516 supports WPA3 on all firmware versions
  • The ADC-V530 supports WPA3 on all firmware versions
  • The ADC-V730 supports WPA3 on all firmware versions
  • The ADC-V731B supports WPA3 on all firmware versions
  • The ADC-V729 and V729AC support WPA3 on all firmware versions
