Leave feedback on saved video clips

Important: Only users in the United States, except Illinois and Texas, are able to leave video feedback/donate clips.

With Video Feedback, customers using Video Analytics can let Alarm.com know whether the content captured in specific saved clips was useful or not.

Sharing clips and feedback helps fine-tune Alarm.com's technology to benefit all Video Analytics customers by providing even more accurate and meaningful alerts. For more information about Video Analytics, see Configure a Video Analytics rule

Note: Video clips can only be viewed and downloaded with a customer's login. Viewing and downloading video clips cannot be done through Log In with Access. For more information about logging in with access, see Using Log In with Access

Automatically donate video clips

Customers can opt-in to automatically donate clips when creating a Video Analytics rule, and they can change this setting at any time using the Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app. 

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Video.
  3. Mouse over the video desired to leave feedback on, then click Configure.
  4. Click Saved Video.
  5. In Video Feedback Settings, click to select Automatically share videos from this camera.
  6. Enter a brief description of what the camera is expected to see.
  7. Click Save.
  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
  2. TapVideo .
  3. Tap Configure.
  4. Tap the desired camera. 
  5. Tap Video
  6. In Keep Clips for the Selected Duration:
    • Tap the Donate Clips to Feedback Program toggle switch to enable automatic clip donations. 
    • Tap the Donate Calibration Images toggle switch to enable automatic calibration clip donations. Calibration clips are snapshots taken while calibrating a camera's Video Analytics.

  7. A legal agreement populates after tapping the clip donation toggle switches. Tap Yes to agree to automatically donate clips. 
  8. In What will this camera see?, provide a brief description of the camera view.
  9. Tap Save.

Leave feedback 

Customers can leave video feedback using the Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app.

Note: Customers can also leave feedback immediately after watching a clip.

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Video.
  3. Click Saved Video Clips.
  4. Mouse over the video desired to leave feedback on, then click Options.
     
    Note: To leave Video Feedback on multiple clips at once, click Bulk Actions followed by Video_checkbox.png to select multiple videos shown on the page.
     
  5. Click icn-donate-clip.svg Share clip.
  6. Click icn-thumbs-up.svg to leave positive feedback or icn-thumbs-down.svg to leave negative feedback.
  7. Enter any additional comments.
  8. Click Submit.

Note: Customers can also leave feedback immediately after watching a clip.

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Video camera.
  3. Tap Saved.
  4. Tap Video checkbox to select the desired video clips.
  5. Tap icn-donate-clip.svg.
  6. Tap icn-thumbs-up.svg to leave positive feedback or icn-thumbs-down.svg to leave negative feedback.
  7. Enter any additional comments, then tap Submit.
