Are there panels that are incompatible with video monitoring?
No. Video monitoring is managed on the customer account separately from the panel. Video devices communicate directly with the account over the internet without needing to interact with the panel directly.
Video devices and the panel can communicate through the account to expand the functionality of the system as a whole.
Note: Video is available without a panel using the Standalone Video (SAV) account type. For more information about video service packages, see What are the service package options for video monitoring?.
Common video device and panel interactions are as follows:
- Trigger notifications and video recordings based on sensor activity or an alarm.
- Stream video on select panels' screens using the panel's Wi-Fi connection.
- Receive doorbell camera notifications on select panels' screens using the panel's Wi-Fi connection.
