Connect a video device to a hidden wireless network
Alarm.com video devices are able to connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network by using manual configuration options. Hidden networks may also be referred to as a network that is not broadcasting. The method to connect to a hidden network depends on the video device being connected:
- For SkyBell Doorbell Cameras, the network must be temporarily unhidden to connect to the network. Follow the typical procedure for connecting the doorbell camera to the network then hide the network again. For more information about the connection procedure, see SkyBell Doorbell Camera (ADC-VDB101/102/105/106/105x/106x) - Installation Guide.
- If the video device is currently connected to the internet using WPS or an Ethernet cable, see To manually configure a video device's wireless network using the Customer Website.
- If the video device does not have an Ethernet cable option and is unable to connect to the internet using WPS, see To manually configure a video device's wireless network using AP mode.
Important: When attempting to manually connect to a wireless network, it is necessary to type in all information about the network. Accuracy is crucial, so it is advisable to confirm the network information is correct. If uncertain, confirm with the person who set up the network.
