Change a video device name

Video device names can be customized for easier system management and camera identification using the Partner MobileTech app, Alarm.com app, or Alarm.com customer website.

Change a video device name

Note: Camera names can have a maximum of 16 characters each.

Partner MobileTech app
  1. Log in to the Partner MobileTech app.
  2. Find the customer account.
  3. Tap Equipment.
  4. Tap the video device to be edited.
  5. Tap Go To Device.
  6. In the Device Name field, enter the new name.
  7. Tap Save.

Note: There are multiple ways to change a video device name using the Partner MobileTech app. Alternate steps:

  1. Log in to the Partner MobileTech app.
  2. Find the customer account.
  3. Tap Equipment.
  4. Tap Video Devices.
  5. Tap the video device to be edited.
  6. In the Device Name field, enter the new name.
  7. Tap Save.
Alarm.com app
  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap Manage Devices.
  4. In Video Devices, tap More.
  5. Tap Edit.
  6. In the Rename Device field, enter the new name.
  7. Tap Ok.
Alarm.com customer website
  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Video.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Select the desired video device.
  5. Next to the device's current name, click Edit.
  6. In the Device Name field, enter the new name.
  7. Click Save.
