Adjust the field of view and focus of a varifocal video device
A varifocal lens on a video device allows the user to zoom in and out using the Alarm.com customer website. Zooming in focuses on the center of the video device's field of view. Any adjustments to the angle should be done manually on the camera itself.
Benefits of a varifocal lens
- Zoom in without losing video quality.
- The camera can adapt to a user's changing needs. Zoom in to target a specific area from far away or zoom out to capture more of a small space.
- A camera with a varifocal lens is more versatile and can be used in a wider range of installations.
