Adjust the Motion Sensitivity and Detection Sensitivity on a battery-powered camera

Motion Sensitivity

The Motion Sensitivity setting for Alarm.com battery-powered cameras controls the sensitivity of the passive infrared (PIR) sensors that are responsible for motion detection. Smaller values correspond to a smaller detection radius, while larger values correspond to a larger detection radius. This setting helps determine how likely the device is to wake up when it detects motion.

Note: Higher levels of sensitivity can reduce the battery life of the device per charge. For more information about the ADC-VDB780B's battery life, see How long can the ADC-VDB780B battery last?.

Detection Sensitivity

The Detection Sensitivity setting for Alarm.com battery-powered cameras determines how likely a clip will be recorded based on what the device sees in its field of view. A smaller value means that the device is less likely to record a clip due to object motion within its field of view, while a larger value means that the device is more more likely to record a clip due to object motion in its field of view.

Note: Higher levels of sensitivity can reduce the battery life of the device per charge. For more information about the ADC-VDB780B's battery life, see How long can the ADC-VDB780B battery last?.
