Configure motion detection modes on a 20XXP Pro Series CSVR
Alarm.com 20XXP Pro Series CSVRs (ADC-CSVR2000P/2008P/2016P) can toggle between two motion detection modes: Standard Motion or People & Vehicle Motion. Motion Indicators on the SVR Timeline and High-Efficiency Recording will follow the settings based on the mode configurations set by the customer.
Mode descriptions
The following is the difference between the two modes.
- Standard Motion detects motion from all sources including inanimate objects (e.g., movement caused by wind, shadows, or light changes). This mode may be preferred for the following use case examples:
- A warehouse where it is important to monitor conveyor belt package movement.
- A jewelry store where any unexpected movement is important.
- An outdoor construction site that is frequently affected by inclement weather conditions or animals.
- People & Vehicle Motion detects motion only from people and vehicles so that only incidents involving people or vehicles are indicated on continuously recorded video. This mode may be preferred for the following use case examples:
- A commercial warehouse where it is important to monitor how many cars are leaving or entering their property.
- A restaurant where it is important to view individuals that are entering their business.
- An electronics retail store where it is important to track any individuals are attempting to shoplift.
Important: Local display options are disabled when using the People & Vehicle Motion mode in order to conserve device resources. If local display is desired, configure the detection mode to Standard Motion.
