What are the terminals on the ADC-VS420 for?
The wiring terminals on the back of Alarm.com cameras are digital inputs that allow a hard-wired sensor to trigger video recordings. This feature is an alternative if the customer is unable to use the camera's software-based motion detection.
For more information about VMD, see Configure Video Motion Detection (VMD) settings for a video device.
The most common application is connecting a wired PIR (passive infrared) motion sensor, although several different kinds of sensors can be connected.
For more camera-specific instructions and information, see 4 Channel Video Server - (ADC-VS420) Digital Input Trigger Guide.
Note: The terminals do not supply power to the sensor.
