How can I tell if the solar panel is charging the camera?
Review the account's activity history to see if the camera indicates a power source change. It may take 30-60 seconds for the solar panel to start generating enough current to start the charging cycle; manually refresh the page after about one minute to see if the activity is logged.

How much sunlight do I need?
More than 3 hours of full solar panel sunlight per day should provide enough charge to keep the batteries charged indefinitely.
Why is my solar panel not charging my camera?
- Verify the solar panel is securely plugged into the camera.
- Verify the solar panel is getting enough sunlight throughout the day. If possible, review the position at various times during the day.

- If debris or dust has accumulated on the solar panel, charging will be diminished.
- Remove any debris or dust from the solar panel with water and a soft cloth.
- Review the account's activity history on the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app to see if the camera is indicating a power source change. If you do not see an entry for a power source change, then review the previous steps above.
- To preserve the battery's lifespan, the solar panel will stop charging the battery when it gets to 80%, and will maintain that charge level while connected.
- The camera's battery will not charge if the battery's temperature is outside the range of 32°F to 113°F (0°C to 45°C).
- Try removing and charging the battery outside of the camera.
