The Alarm.com Solar Panel (ADC-VACC-SP4W) and ADC-V731B camera are designed to be used together to ensure a weatherproof connection. The full suite of features and functionalities will only work correctly with the official Alarm.com Solar Panel.

It is possible to verify the SP4W Solar Panel is charging the camera using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app.

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Video.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Select the desired camera.
  5. Click Battery Status.
  6. View the Solar Panel Charging value to determine the device's current charging status.

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Video .
  3. Tap Configure.
  4. Select the desired camera.
  5. Tap Battery Status.
  6. View the Solar Panel Charging value to determine the device's current charging status.

More than 3 hours of full solar panel sunlight per day should provide enough charge to keep the batteries charged indefinitely.

  • Review the camera's Battery Status page using the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app.
    • Review any trouble status information.
    • In Solar Panel Charging, verify whether or not the camera shows it is charging.
  • The camera's battery will not charge if the battery's temperature is outside the range of 32°F to 113°F (0°C to 45°C).
  • Verify the solar panel is securely plugged into the camera.
  • Verify the solar panel is getting enough sunlight throughout the day. If possible, review the position at various times during the day.
  • If debris or dust has accumulated on the solar panel, charging will be diminished.
    • Remove any debris or dust from the solar panel with water and a soft cloth.
  • If the camera still does not indicate it is receiving charge from the solar panel, review the previous steps above as needed.
  • Remove the battery from the camera and charge the battery pack on its own to verify whether or not the camera is able to charge.

If the solar panel still is not charging the camera, contact your technical support.
