Which Google Nest Thermostat features are available through Alarm.com?
Customers can control Google Nest Thermostat via the Alarm.com app for an integrated connected home experience. The Nest app still functions as before.
Note: Nest does not support many of the advanced energy features offered by the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat, such as remote temperature sensing. If the customer is interested in these features, an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat would be a better option.
Alarm.com features available with Nest Integration:
- Current target temperature control
- Current mode control (Heat, Cool)
- Scene thermostat control including:
- Temperature control
- Mode control
Nest Eco Mode display on Alarm.com:
Locally, Nest Thermostats automatically switch to Eco mode after they senses that nobody is home. This feature is not supported on Alarm.com. When a Nest Thermostat is in Eco mode, it is shown as Off on the Alarm.com Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app.
To exit Eco mode, change the thermostat’s mode to Heat, Cool, or Auto. Eco Mode cannot be selected from the Alarm.com Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app.

- Rule-based automation including:
- Smart away setback (i.e., Geo-Fence and panel arm away status)
