Factory reset an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat to its default settings
The Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (Smart Thermostat HD, ADC-T2000, and ADC-T3000) can be reset to factory default locally at the thermostat.
Reset the thermostat
Important: If the thermostat is enrolled onto a Z-Wave network, remove the thermostat from the network prior to factory resetting. This action clears Z-Wave network information from the thermostat.
To reset the Smart Thermostat HD
- Remove the Display.
- Press and hold the button on the Thermostat for 30 seconds.
- When the Status LED slowly blinks, release the button. The Status LED will blink 10 times rapidly before turning off.
- When the LED turns back on, the device has been factory reset.
- After factory resetting the thermostat, put the Display back on the Thermostat. You will need to restart the setup process.
To reset the ADC-T2000
- Press
to put the thermostat into Off mode. When the thermostat is in Off mode, no symbols are lit below the temperature display.
- Once in Off mode, press and hold
on the Smart Thermostat until a version displays. The version number does not matter for this process.
- Once the version displays, press and hold
on the Smart Thermostat until RST displays on the thermostat.
- When RST clears from the thermostat display, the thermostat is reset to factory default configurations.
Important: If Thermostat Lock is enabled, the thermostat will not respond to button presses until Thermostat Lock is disabled. If the Security Panel (or other Z-Wave Controller) becomes unresponsive, or if the thermostat is not enrolled onto an active Alarm.com account, a full reboot (i.e., removing AC and battery power) of the thermostat will bypass the local thermostat lock on any Alarm.com Smart Thermostat with Z-Wave version 1.2+. For more information about thermostat lock, see Enable or disable Thermostat Lock on an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat.
