Do Alarm.com Smart Thermostats qualify as ENERGY STAR® Connected Thermostats?

Yes. The Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (Smart Thermostat HD, ADC-T2000, and ADC-T3000) is now certified as an ENERGY STAR® Connected Thermostat.

About ENERGY STAR®

ENERGY STAR® is a U.S. government program that identifies products contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants. ENERGY STAR® certification for the Smart Thermostat (Smart Thermostat HD, ADC-T2000, and ADC-T3000) demonstrates Alarm.com's continued commitment to making energy-efficient automation products that maximize comfort and savings.

In order to qualify as an ENERGY STAR® certified Connected Thermostat, the thermostat must feature:

  • Demonstrated energy savings
  • Accurate measurements of static temperature
  • Network standby average power consumption
  • Time to enter network standby after user interaction

For more information, refer to ENERGY STAR®'s Requirements for Connected Thermostat Products.

Rebates

In addition to energy savings, some utilities offer rebates of $25 - $150 for installing an energy-efficient Smart Thermostat. Most of these rebates are targeted at homeowners, but there are select companies that offer them to service providers as well.

Note: ENERGY STAR® certification of thermostats is not always necessary to be eligible for rebates.

To find out if rebates are offered in a particular area:
  1. Review the list of Alarm.com verified rebate programs.
