Why does the Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (ADC-T3000) light up blue or red?
The Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (ADC-T3000) display changes color based on whether it is in cooling mode or heating mode. There are no settings locally or remotely to manually change the color of the display.
Note: The display cannot stay on permanently, but it can be configured to wake when motion is detected nearby. For more information about enabling motion-detected wake, see Enable or disable motion-detected wake on an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (ADC-T3000).
ADC-T3000 LED colors
| Thermostat mode | LED color |
|---|---|
| COOL | Blue |
| HEAT | Red |
| AUTO | When in AUTO mode, the LED color will reflect the most recent call (i.e., blue for COOL or red for HEAT). |
Troubleshooting
If the display is not changing color to correctly reflect the mode the thermostat most recently called for, it is recommended to factory reset the thermostat to its default settings. For more information, see Factory reset an Alarm.com Smart Thermostat to its default settings.
Important: If the thermostat is enrolled into a Z-Wave network, remove the thermostat from the network prior to factory resetting. This action clears Z-Wave network information from the thermostat.
If there is no change to this behavior after a factory reset, it is recommended to replace the thermostat.
