Device Warm-Up Mode

The Device Warm-Up Mode trouble condition indicates that the device has entered a limited functionality mode due to low environmental temperatures. This may also appear in the equipment list as Low Temperature Reduced-Power or Thermal Mode.

Functions enabled while in Device Warm-Up Mode:

  • Button presses triggering an indoor chime
  • Video clip notifications
    • Button press
    • Video Analytics
    • Touchless Chime

Functions disabled while in Device Warm-Up Mode:

  • Video recordings
  • Video streaming using the Alarm.com app
  • Stream to panel
  • Two-way audio
  • Button presses triggering an outdoor tone

How to resolve:

Allow the device to warm up to its operating temperature to restore full functionality.

If the environmental temperature often goes below the rating for the device (-22° F,  -30° C), consider using the Video Doorbell Temperature Collar. For more information about the product, see How does the Video Doorbell Temperature Collar work?.

Important: The device will cease to ring the indoor chime at around ~ -40° C ambient without a temperature collar.
