A nami device is offline
There are various reasons a nami device could be in malfunction or offline.
How to resolve:
- Confirm that the nami device is powered on.
- Ensure Alarm Pods and SensePlugs are properly inserted into their power sockets and the power sockets are turned on. If an Alarm Pod is showing as offline, try using the original power supply adapter if it is not already being used.
- Ensure that Contact Sensors and Keypad have batteries inserted and that the battery levels are not depleted.
- Confirm that the Wi-Fi router and network that the devices are using are operational.
- For devices to function, the Wi-Fi router needs to:
- Allow DNS requests for the eisbach.nami.surf domain name.
- Allow outgoing TCP connections on port 5684.
- Allow traffic from Europe (where nami’s servers are located).
- If the credentials of the router have changed, the nami devices must be set up again.
- For devices to function, the Wi-Fi router needs to:
- Confirm that the devices are within range of the internet network, especially if the devices have been moved to a new location.
- Ensure no metal appliances are between devices, and the devices are within range of the Thread network, which is within 3-10 meters (10-32 feet) of the Thread border router devices of Alarm Pods or SensePlugs.
