A nami's activity sensors do not detect motion

nami Alarm Pods and SensePlugs are activity sensors that work together to detect motion. To detect activity, a minimum of two devices per zone is required, though three devices per zone are recommended to enhance the data collection.

Sensitivity

If the sensitivity level is set to low, then the system may require additional movement for a few seconds in order for motion to be detected and for the alarm event to register.
With that said, it is not recommended to set the sensitivity level to high because it significantly increases the risk of false alarms, for instance from neighbors walking by. Indoor considerations include robot vacuums, pets, and children, all of which could trigger undesirable alarm events on with a high sensitivity threshold.

How to resolve:

If you are using at least two devices but motion is not detected, there are a few areas to troubleshoot:

  1. Confirm that the devices are online.
  2. Confirm that the devices are placed on the same floor and within 3-10 meters (10-32 feet) of each other.

Note: Metal appliances such as microwave ovens, speakers, and fish tanks could interfere with Wi-Fi signals. As such, it is best practice not to place devices behind such objects, and the nami solution is also not recommended for use in office environments.
