Are any devices incompatible with the SEM-Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista?

Incompatible devices

The following devices are not supported by the SEM. The SEM is unable to read or recognize the programming of these devices. This is not a complete list, but are fairly common devices that have been asked about. 

• Vista 20
• Vista 20se (Also known as Safewatch Pro 2000)
• Vista 20hwse
• Vista 15se
• Vista 10
• Vista 10se
• Via-30pse
• Vista 32p (all 32 / 32p / 32fb variants)
• First Alert FA145C
• Vista 50p (all 50p variants)
• Vista 128p (all 128 / 128p / 128fb variants)
• Any Honeywell Lynx series panel
• Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (ADC-T25)

Incompatible devices with the SEM-Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista

Note: Initially the SEM was not compatible with voice keypads (i.e., 6150V, 6160V, 6290W, and their variants). For compatibility with voice remote or talking keypads, verify the SEM is on version 1.60+. 

If any of the following devices are attached, remove the device before using the System Enhancement Module (SEM) with the Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista. Having any of these devices may result in unexpected behavior from the security panel. If any of these devices are present, power down the system, remove the devices, and power on the system. The SEM will attempt to scan after it powers on. 

• AVS devices
  • This device is used for Two-Way Voice, which is not available on the SEM. The AVS also allows zone descriptors to be announced. 
• 4232CBM (Connected Building Module)
• Telephone (POTS) line
  • The SEM should be the only communication path for alarm signaling to the monitoring station.
• 2GIG-STZ-1 thermostat
• Alarm.com Smart Thermostat (ADC-T25)

Sensor Activity Monitoring (SAM) is not compatible with the following device. Turn off SAM for this sensor, if installed. 

• 5822T Tilt Sensor

Incompatible software 

Alarm.com does not support Compass when using the SEM-Honeywell/ADEMCO Vista.
