Clear a severe weather alert from an Interlogix Simon XTi-5
Severe weather alerts to the panel notify customers of incoming dangerous weather. The alerts only come in for tornado, fire, or tsunami warnings. When an alert comes in, there will be a series of audible beeps and a message on the panel. For more information about severe weather alerts, see Severe Weather Alerts.
Note: Alerts are not sent for thunderstorms due to how common they are in the summer months. Hurricanes are not included since these have a large forecast window.
When a severe weather alert is issued, the panel issues an alarm with low siren for the duration of the panel’s siren timeout on sensor 39 Weather Alert.
To clear a severe weather alert using an Interlogix Simon XTi-5 panel:
- Tap the alarm message and disarm the panel.
- Once disarmed, the user can view a scrolling banner on the bottom of the XTi panel screen that states the nature of the severe weather and the expiration time of the warning as specified by the National Weather Service. The banner automatically clears 30 minutes after the alert expires or 30 minutes after the system is disarmed, depending on whichever is later.
