What is the best practice for power cycling security panels?
All security panels follow the same best practice for power cycling the panel, except Qolsys panels which have steps to perform from the panel interface before disconnecting.
For Qolsys panels:
- Power down the panel from the panel interface Settings.
- For more information about power procedures, see the panel-specific Qolsys power procedures.
- Disconnect the battery power.
- Disconnect the AC power.
- Reconnect the battery power.
- Reconnect the AC power.
- Press and hold the power button on the right side of the panel for 3 seconds to power up.
For all other panel brands:
- Disconnect the AC power.
- Disconnect the battery power.
- Reconnect the battery power.
- Reconnect the AC power.
