Clear a severe weather alert from a DSC Touch
Severe weather alerts to the panel notify customers of incoming dangerous weather. The alerts only come in for tornado, fire, or tsunami warnings. When an alert comes in, there will be a series of audible beeps and a message on the panel. For more information about severe weather alerts, see Severe Weather Alerts.
Note: Alerts are not sent for thunderstorms due to how common they are in the summer months. Hurricanes are not included since these have a large forecast window.
When a Severe Weather Alert is issued, the panel chimes approximately every three seconds until acknowledged. The status bar displays a scrolling message stating the nature of the severe weather and an alert bubble appears on the Contact Us icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.
To clear a severe weather alert using a DSC Touch panel:
- Tap the Contact Us icon.
- Tap Message Center.
- After reading the alert details, tap to select the box next to the alert to acknowledge it and discontinue the chime.
