Bypass a sensor on a 2GIG EDGE

On the 2GIG EDGE panel, it is possible to bypass an open contact sensor, or any sensor with a trouble condition (e.g., tamper, low battery, offline, etc.) when arming a system from the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app. The only way to remotely bypass a sensor is to arm the system, which will trigger an automatic sensor bypass if enabled in system configurations.

How does it work?

If auto bypass is enabled

The system automatically bypasses open/troubled sensors when arming the panel if Q121: Keyfob/remote arming mode on system not ready in System Configuration is set to either Auto-Bypass with Zone Participation on Restore or Auto-Bypass. A motion sensor that has been activated, such as one that has recently detected motion, would not be bypassed if the panel is being armed away. Bypassed sensors display in the customer's history.

If auto bypass is not enabled

The 2GIG panel is unable to bypass open/troubled sensors when arming remotely if Q121 is set to Arm Only When Ready. An Arming Failed message displays in the customer's history, and the panel displays which sensors are not ready. The open/troubled sensors would need to be resolved or bypassed to successfully arm.

On the 2GIG EDGE, it is not possible to select a specific sensor to bypass using the Alarm.com customer website and Alarm.com app. For more information about bypassing sensors directly from the panel, see 2GIG EDGE Panel - User Guide.
