Enroll, delete, or reset a Yale Assure Lock 2 Pro Deadbolt/Yale Pro® 2 ZW3 Lock

Z-Wave locks use encrypted communication over Z-Wave, meaning their communication is completely secure. With this added security, the lock and the controller must use additional Z-Wave commands to enroll and communicate. With each additional command sent, the probability of a communication breakdown increases.

Important: Do not add or delete user codes locally to or from the lock. Only use the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app for user code management.

To mitigate the chances of enrollment failure for locks, complete the following during installation. 

To enroll a Yale Assure Lock 2 Pro Deadbolt/Yale Pro® 2 ZW3 Lock

As an S0 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart or S2-compatible, this device can be enrolled in the traditional way as an S0 device.

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Add Mode.
  2. Press the small black button on the interior of the lock until 1 and ⚙ are illuminated.
  3. Press [1], followed by the gear button [⚙] to enter the settings menu. 
  4. Enter the 4-8 digit programming code, followed by the gear button [⚙].
  5. Press [7], followed by the gear button [⚙] to select the Z-Wave setting. 
  6. Press [1], followed by the gear button [⚙] to enroll. 
  7. Wait 2 minutes before locally operating the device.
  8. Verify that the lock appears on the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app and responds to lock/unlock commands.

To delete a Yale Assure Lock 2 Pro Deadbolt/Yale Pro® 2 ZW3 Lock

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Delete Mode.
  2. Press the small black button on the interior of the lock until 1 and ⚙ are illuminated.
  3. Press [1], followed by the gear button [⚙] to enter the settings menu. 
  4. Enter the 4-8 digit programming code, followed by the gear button [⚙].
  5. Press [7], followed by the gear button [⚙] to select the Z-Wave setting. 
  6. Press [3], followed by the gear button [⚙] to delete. 

To reset a Yale Assure Lock 2 Pro Deadbolt/Yale Pro® 2 ZW3 Lock

  1. Remove one battery.
  2. Insert reset pin into the designated reset hole.
  3. Press and hold the reset pin.
  4. While holding the reset pin, reinsert battery.
  5. Keep holding the reset pin for 5 more seconds.
  6. Take out the reset pin.

Troubleshooting

The Z-Wave device is not enrolling
