Kwikset 916 Touchscreen Deadbolt - Battery Replacement

The Kwikset 916 Touchscreen Deadbolt requires four AA batteries.

To replace the batteries in a Kwikset 916 Touchscreen Deadbolt:

  1. Verify the turnpiece is in the vertical position.

  2. Remove the lock cover.

  3. Remove the battery pack.

  4. Insert new AA batteries into the battery pack, ensuring correct polarity. For best results, use new non-rechargeable Alkaline batteries only.

  5. Slide the battery pack back into the lock panel.

  6. Reinstall the lock cover.

Note: If the low battery does not automatically clear on the customer's equipment list, request an updated status from the lock using the Partner Portal or Partner MobileTech app. For more information about requesting the status, see Request an updated status on Z-Wave devices.
