Enroll, delete, or reset an DB1 Pro Lock

Notice: In order to enroll this lock to a customer account, the Alfred lock requires a Z-Wave module that is sold separately. For more information about the Z-Wave module, contact the manufacturer.

Z-Wave locks use encrypted communication over Z-Wave, meaning their communication is completely secure. With this added security, the lock and the controller must use additional Z-Wave commands to enroll and communicate. With each additional command sent, the probability of a communication breakdown increases.

For information about hardware installation, see Alfred DB1 Pro Lock - Product Manual.

Important: Do not add or delete user codes locally to or from the lock. Only use the Alarm.com customer website or Alarm.com app for user code management.

To mitigate the chances of enrollment failure for locks, complete the following during installation.

To enroll an Alfred DB1 Pro Lock

As a SmartStart device:

It is recommended to enroll this device as a SmartStart device to eliminate the need to put Z-Wave controllers into Add Mode or to trigger devices (as is the case when enrolling non-SmartStart S2 devices).

For information about SmartStart compatibility and the enrollment process, see Add or remove a Z-Wave SmartStart-enabled device.

As an S2 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart-compatible, it is recommended to enroll this device as an S2 device for enhanced security and encryption features.

For information about this process, see Add an S2-encrypted Z-Wave device.

As an S0 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart or S2-compatible, this device can be enrolled in the traditional way as an S0 device.

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Add Mode.
  2. Press [*][*][Master Code][Check] to enter Master Mode.
  3. Press [8] to enter Network settings.
  4. Press [1] to enter Inclusion mode.

To delete an Alfred DB1 Pro Lock

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Delete Mode.
  2. Press [*][*][Master Code][Check] to enter Master Mode.
  3. Press [8] to enter Network settings.
  4. Press [2] to enter Exclusion mode.

To reset an Alfred DB1 Pro Lock

  1. Place the lock in the unlocked position.
  2. Open the battery box to reveal the reset button.
  3. With a pin or other thin tool, press and hold the reset button.
  4. While holding the reset button, remove a battery from the lock.
  5. While holding the reset button, re-insert the battery into the lock.
  6. Continue holding the reset button until the lock beeps (about 10 seconds).
