Enroll, delete, or reset a Qolsys IQ Plug-In Dimmer (QZ2141-840)

The Qolsys IQ Plug-In Dimmer (QZ2141-840) can be enrolled into or deleted from a Z-Wave network following the instructions below.

To enroll a Qolsys IQ Plug-In Dimmer (QZ2141-840) into a Z-Wave network:

As a SmartStart device:

It is recommended to enroll this device as a SmartStart device to eliminate the need to put Z-Wave controllers into Add Mode or to trigger devices (as is the case when enrolling non-SmartStart S2 devices).

As an S2 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart-compatible, it is recommended to enroll this device as an S2 device for enhanced security and encryption features.

As an S0 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart or S2-compatible, this device can be enrolled in the traditional way as an S0 device.

  1. Plug in the Qolsys IQ Plug-In Dimmer (QZ2141-840) in the desired location.
  2. Place the Z-Wave controller into Add Mode.
  3. Press the button on the top of the dimmer.

To delete a Qolsys IQ Plug-In Dimmer (QZ2141-840) from a Z-Wave network:

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Delete Mode.
  2. Press the button on the top of the dimmer.

To reset a Qolsys IQ Plug-In Dimmer (QZ2141-840):

  1. Unplug the Qolsys IQ Plug-In Dimmer (QZ2141-840) from the AC outlet and also unplug the power plug of the appliance from the dimmer (if plugged in).
  2. Press and hold the button on the top of the dimmer.
  3. Plug the dimmer back into the AC outlet with the button pressed.
  4. After 3 seconds, release the button. The LED will blink to indicate that the PD700 has been reset successfully.
