Z-Wave lamp module is not responding to remote commands or displays an incorrect status

A Z-Wave lamp module may not respond to remote commands or display the correct status on the Alarm.com app and Alarm.com customer website for a few reasons.

How to resolve:

  1. Verify the device is fully plugged into an outlet.
  2. If the lamp module has more than one outlet, verify the device is plugged into the controlled side of the plug-in module (often the left side). For device-specific information, see the relevant guides in Lighting and Appliance Control.
  3. Verify the outlet the device is plugged into is powered by 120VAC.
  4. Verify the device controls the connected circuit using its own local control by tapping the middle button. Additionally, try pushing and holding the middle button to bring the fixture up to full brightness.
    1. If the circuit does not respond, check the lamp to verify the bulb is not in need of replacement. Plug the lamp directly into an available outlet to verify the lamp functions properly.
    2. If the device still does not control the circuit, replace the device.
