To enroll a EcoLink Z-Wave Plus Garage Controller (GDZW7-ECO):

As a SmartStart device:

It is recommended to enroll this device as a SmartStart device to eliminate the need to put Z-Wave controllers into Add Mode or to trigger devices (as is the case when enrolling non-SmartStart S2 devices).

For information about SmartStart compatibility and the enrollment process, see Add or remove a Z-Wave SmartStart-enabled device.

As an S2 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart-compatible, it is recommended to enroll this device as an S2 device for enhanced security and encryption features.

For information about this process, see Add an S2-encrypted Z-Wave device.

As an S0 device:

If the Z-Wave controller is not SmartStart or S2-compatible, this device can be enrolled in the traditional way as an S0 device.

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Add Mode.
  2. Press the Hub button on the EcoLink device.
  3. The device will beep and its status light will illuminate green to indicate successful enrollment.

To delete a EcoLink Z-Wave Plus Garage Controller (GDZW7-ECO):

  1. Place the Z-Wave controller into Delete Mode.
  2. Press the Hub button on the EcoLink device.
  3. The device will beep three times and the status light will flash red to indicate a successful deletion.

To reset a EcoLink Z-Wave Plus Garage Controller (GDZW7-ECO):

Note: Factory reset only works when the device is already added into a Z-Wave network. If the device is not included in a network, then it cannot be factory reset.

  1. Insert a paperclip into the reset button hole until the button depresses. There will be a short beep.
  2. Hold the button down for 10 seconds. The status light will blink red while the reset button is pressed and will go out after 10 seconds.
  3. The device’s status light will turn green to indicate the reset operation is complete.
