Manage Thermostat Rewards Program

Thermostat Rewards helps customers enroll in programs with electric utilities that offer savings or incentives by allowing limited thermostat adjustments during peak demand. Programs typically run in summer and may also include heating control in cooler months, enabling incentives year‑round.

Customers can opt out of individual events or leave the program entirely at any time, though this may affect available savings/incentives offered through the program.

Note: Thermostat Rewards is available in supported markets for customers using Alarm.com‑connected thermostats. 

Customer enrollment and view of the Thermostat Rewards Program

Customers eligible for an active Energy Program can opt in and may receive incentives from their energy company. Customers can opt in to the Thermostat Rewards program using the Alarm.com customer website, where they can check eligibility, enrollment status, program incentives, and upcoming, active, and recent events. 

To view the Thermostat Rewards Program using the Alarm.com customer website:
  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. In the Thermostats card, click .
  3. Click Rewards Program.

Customers can enroll directly from an offer when it is presented to them, or they can enroll using the following steps at any time (if eligible). 

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. In the Thermostats card, click .
  3. Click Rewards Program.
    • All customers eligible for the Thermostat Rewards Program will be able to see this tab. 
  4. Click Get Started to opt-in to the Thermostat Rewards Program. 
  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. In the Thermostats card, click .
  3. Click Rewards Program.
  4. Click Settings. 
  5. Click Unenroll Program. 
  6. Click Unenroll. 

Email notifications give customers advanced notice of thermostat adjustments. There is an average of 6-10 peak events per season. To override settings, customers can increase or decrease the temperature during an event.
