How does the Netgear Powerline Extender for Alarm.com work?
The Netgear Powerline Extender extends the home’s Wi-Fi network using existing power lines, so there is no need to run wires or do any extra configuration.
Simply plug the PassThru adapter into an open outlet near the home’s router, and plug the Wi-Fi Access Point into an outlet near the camera. Wireless cameras can be set up easily using WPS through the WPS button on the Wi-Fi Access Point. For more information, see Netgear PowerLine Range Extender Installation Guide.
Note: The Netgear Powerline Extender is only compatible with video cameras that have WPS functionality. It is not compatible with the SkyBell Doorbell Camera. To see if a specific camera supports WPS, see the camera's data sheet in Video Devices.
