Cell Connector (ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2) data usage on Video and Access Control plans

Alarm.com accounts have a set amount of data that can be used per month based on the number of Cell Connectors on the account and the selected data add-on. Data usage numbers are updated every morning, and data usage totals reset on the first day of each month.

Note: Continuous streaming is not supported with the Cell Connector to prevent accidental data overages. Streams will time out after 15 minutes regardless of settings.

Data Pooling and additional Data add-ons

When a customer account has multiple Video Cell Connectors, they will all pool their monthly data for shared usage. Each Cell Connector adds 20 GBs by default, and it is possible to add additional data in 5 GB increments, up to a maximum of 50 GB per customer account.

Cell Connector additional data

Note: If the data cap has been reached on an account, adding additional data will re-enable disabled features the same way it would when the data resets at the beginning of each month. Once added, data add-ons remain on the account until they are removed/reduced.

Enhanced monthly data limit alerts

Enhanced monthly data limit alerts are an early warning system that helps customers track data usage before the limit is reached and features become limited. Email and push notifications are still sent when key benchmarks are reached, but notifications are also sent depending on how quickly the customer account reaches each benchmark. This ensures customers can address data consumption quickly.

Customers can set up notifications to assist in monitoring their monthly data usage. For more information about setting up data usage notifications, see Create a cell data limit notification for the Cell Connector (ADC-NK-200T-A-CC2).

If an account reaches its monthly data allowance

  • Live streaming and viewing SD or SVR footage is not available to the customer until data consumption resets at the beginning of the next month.

Note: Live streaming and viewing SD or SVR footage will still be accessible through Remote Video Monitoring interfaces.

  • Alarm and gunshot-triggered clip uploads remain enabled, but all other clip upload rules are disabled until data consumption resets at the beginning of the next month, at which point they will be re-enabled.
  • Access Control door controllers maintain full connectivity and functionality.
