What are the jumpers on the ADC-ACX2 for?

J2

This jumper determines the voltage that is supplied to the VIN terminals that power both Reader 1 and Reader 2. Consult your readers' power requirements before making your selection of placing the J2 jumper on 12 or PT.

If powering the ADC-ACX2 with 12VDC:
  • Selecting 12 for the J2 jumper will provide less than 12VDC for both readers.
  • Selecting PT for the J2 jumper will provide 12VDC for both readers.
If powering the ADC-ACX2 with 24VDC:
  • Selecting 12 for the J2 jumper will provide 12VDC for both readers.
  • Selecting PT for the J2 jumper will provide 24VDC for both readers.

J3

This jumper determines if the board will communicate using a two or four-wire connection for the RS-485 terminals. At this time, the jumper must remain in the 2W position in order for proper communication with the host controller.

J5

This jumper is the end-of-line termination jumper. It should only be installed if the expansion is the last in the chain of expansions connected to a controller.
