What are the jumpers on the ADC-AC-LP1502 for?

J5

Install the termination jumper (J5) only on the panel at each end of the RS-485 bus. Failure to do so will compromise the proper operation of the communication channel.

J7

This jumper determines the voltage that is supplied to the VIN terminals that power both Reader 1 and Reader 2. Consult your readers' power requirements before making your selection of placing the J7 jumper on 12 or PT.

If powering the ADC-AC-LP1502 with 12VDC:
  • Selecting 12 for the J7 jumper will provide less than 12VDC for both readers.
  • Selecting PT for the J7 jumper will provide 12VDC for both readers.
If powering the ADC-AC-LP1502 with 24VDC:
  • Selecting 12 for the J7 jumper will provide 12VDC for both readers.
  • Selecting PT for the J7 jumper will provide 24VDC for both readers.

J19

Note: The J19 jumper is present on Mercury series hardware with revision D or later. Hardware with revisions A, B, or C will have a plastic film that prevents contact between the battery and metal conductor clip. The revision can be found on the sticker on the controller.

Set J19 to ON during installation while the controller is not powered. Setting to ON allows normal operation and the controller's local memory database to be written.

Caution: If this step is skipped, the local database will be cleared if the board experiences a drop in power or is reset.
