Wire and configure an Aero expansion module to an X1100 Door Controller (ADC-AC-X1100)

Whenever working with expansions, it may be required to adjust the End of Line (EOL) jumpers on both the X1100 Door Controller and its expansions. Pictured below is the easiest method for configuring the EOL jumpers on the system's boards. With this method, the expansion port on the controller is set to IN as well as the last expansion connected in that same RS-485 communication bus. All others in between the controller and the last expansion are set to OUT.

For wiring, use one twisted pair, shielded cable, with 120Ω impedance, 24 AWG, not exceeding 4,000 ft. (1,219 m) maximum with a drain. Each IO port on the X1100 can support up to 32 Aero expansions.

In the event that both expansion RS-485 ports on the X1100 Door Controller are utilized, the following wiring schemes and EOL configurations can be utilized or applied to larger systems:

5-6 doors or two expansion modules

7-8 doors or three expansion modules

Alternative wiring and EOL jumper configuration

Pictured below is a controller utilizing the previously mentioned configuration (top) as well as a functional alternative scheme (bottom).

Note: The bottom wiring scheme uses the same EOL configuration but has the expansions daisy-chained so that only Port 1 on the expansions are utilized.
