What is a centralized design for an Access Control system?

Centralized Design.PNG

In a centralized design Access Control system, the wiring of all the components is installed at a door wired back to a central location such as a Network room or Security closet. Having all door components wired back to a central location allows an installer to quickly inspect all of the contact points between a door's peripherals to the parent controller and any expansions on a system.

This design also makes installations easier should there be a need to connect components of the Access Control system to a fire alarm panel to allow doors to unlock during a fire or emergency event.
