Migrate Access Control users from a single system to an Enterprise account

Managing all users at the Enterprise level requires some initial setup if single system users need to be migrated to the Enterprise level. It is recommended to use the Bulk User Management feature to help move larger amounts of users.

Remove users from a single system

Use Bulk User Management on a single system to export the user list.

  1. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website with the single system account.
  2. Click User Access.
  3. Click Users.
  4. Click to expand More.
  5. Click Bulk User Management.
  6. Click Download Users.
  7. Open the downloaded CSV field and check the user list for accuracy.
  8. Take note of any single system Access Plans and what they each include if you plan to recreate them at the Enterprise Level.

Caution: You will not get to review which users had access to which doors and when after the users are removed.

  9. Delete the single system users.
    • This can be done by individually deleting each user or by re-uploading the previously downloaded CSV file with the Action column set to Delete.

Note: Master Control users cannot be deleted from a single system account. If there is a desire to use that master user's PIN code at the Enterprise Level, it will be required to change the single system master user code to something else to make the desired PIN code available at the Enterprise Level.

  10. Verify all single system users have been removed.
    • After there are no longer any users at the single system, it is recommended to also delete the single system Access Plans.

Add users to the Access Control Enterprise account

  1. Open the previously downloaded single system CSV user list, change the Action column cell for each user to Create, then save the file.
  2. Log in to the Alarm.com customer website with the Access Control Enterprise account.
  3. Click User Access.
  4. Click Users.
  5. Click to expand More.
  6. Click Bulk User Management
  7. Click Browse.
  8. Locate and select your CSV user list file and click Open.
  9. Review and correct any errors, then re-save. Repeat the previous steps if any errors occurred.
  10. Once no errors appear, click Submit.

Note: Depending on how many users are included in the spreadsheet, it may take some time for them to appear on the Alarm.com customer website and app.

  11. Create your Enterprise Access Plan(s) and add your newly added Enterprise users.
  12. Repeat the previous steps for each single system account that needs its users migrated to the Enterprise level.
