Wire a Request to Exit (REX) motion device to an LP1501 PoE Door Controller (ADC-AC-LP1501)

The main purpose of a Request to Exit (REX) motion device is to ensure the occupants within the building can safely exit the building by firing a lock to open. Additionally, a REX motion device can be configured to track exit activity for a door. The ADC-AC-LP1501 offers up to two onboard inputs that can be used for a REX device or a Door Position Switch.

To wire a REX motion device to an LP1501 PoE Door Controller (ADC-AC-LP1501):

REX motion detectors come in many varieties. Some will have an onboard wire harness with multiple wiring schemes, or they will have onboard terminals such as this commonly used model below. In general, a REX motion will require a source of power into its VIN/GND terminals and will have a form-c relay output that sends the REX event signal to one of the input terminals on the Access Control board.
