- Can Access Control be interfaced with garage door motors or gate controllers?Compatibility with Alarm.com Access Control hardware depends on the device in use.
- Does Access Control locking hardware require a diode or MOV?Whenever an output relay drives/controls an inductive load (electromechanical device), a suppression device is recommended to be installed to protect the circuitry. External protection is not required if the device being driven already has internal protection. For more information, refer to the device’s installation manual.
- What is the difference between fail-safe and fail-secure (normally open and normally closed) for Access Control?All electrified locking devices require either power to lock or power to unlock and fall into the category of fail-safe or fail-secure.
