Create/edit an Up and About notification

An Up and About notification can notify users if there has been a long period without sensor activity at their home.

NoteUp and About notifications are not sent based on activity from Z-Wave or video devices.

To create/edit an Up and About notification using the Alarm.com app:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com app.
  2. Tap Menu.
  3. Tap Notifications.
  4. Tap Settings.
  5. To edit a notification, tap to select the Up and About notification to configure. 
  6. To create a new notification if there is not an Up and About notification yet: 
    1. Tap Add.
    2. Tap Use A Template.
    3. In Wellness, tap More
    4. Tap Up And About.
  7. Enter the desired name for the notification rule.
  8. Using the System is inactive for dropdown menus, configure the required inactivity duration.
  9. In During this time frame, select either: 
    • At All Times to notify you any time of the day the system is inactive for the set time.
    • Only During the Following Times to set up notifications to only take place during certain hours of the day.
  10. In Recipients, tap Add to select recipients to be notified. 
  11. Tap the entries in the Address Book that are to be notified, or tap Add Contact to add a new Address Book entry.
  12. Once all desired recipients are selected, tap Close.
  13. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  14. Tap Save.

To create/edit an Up and About notification using the Alarm.com customer website:

  1. Log into the Alarm.com customer website.
  2. Click Notifications.
  3. To edit a notification, click Edit for the Up and About notification to configure. 
  4. To create a new notification if there is not an Up and About notification yet: 
    1. Click New Notification.
    2. Click Wellness.
    3. Click Up And About.
  5. Enter the desired name for the notification rule.
  6. Using the System is inactive for dropdown menus, configure the required inactivity duration.
  7. In During this time frame, select either: 
    • At All Times to notify you any time of the day the system is inactive for the set time.
    • Only During the Following Times to set up notifications to only take place during certain hours of the day.
  8. In Recipients, click Add to select recipients to be notified.
  9. Click the entries in the Address Book that are to be notified, or click New to add a new Address Book entry.
  10. Once all desired recipients are selected, click Close.
  11. Verify the notification is configured with the correct settings.
  12. Click Save.
