Can I view garage door state and open or close the garage door from the security panel?

The ability to see, open, and close the garage door from a security panel depends on the type of garage door control solution and security panel you have.

Linear

If you have a Linear Z-Wave garage door opener (GDO), then it is possible to control the GDO from the following security panel types:

  • 2GIG GoControl 1 or 2
  • 2GIG GC3
  • DSC Touch
  • Qolsys IQ Panel
  • Qolsys IQ Panel 2

LiftMaster, Genie, and Overhead Door

If you have a LiftMaster MyQ Internet Gateway or MyQ Smart Garage Hub, then it is possible to control the garage door from the following security panels:

  • Qolsys IQ Panel 2 on panel software version 2.4.0+
  • Qolsys IQ Hub
  • Qolsys IQ Panel 4
  • Qolsys IQ4 Hub
  • Qolsys IQ Pro and IQ4 NS using the IQ Remote keypad

Note: MyQ Gate Openers are not currently supported for viewing or controlling status on the Qolsys security panels.
